Job search, explained
Glossary
What Kariyan means by the terms it uses to find jobs and prepare applications.
- Company-direct application
- An application submitted through an employer's career site or hiring contact. It uses the employer's own application channel; response times depend on the employer.
- Career-page crawling
- Software checks an employer's career site for published roles and records new or changed listings. This can surface jobs on those sites, including ones absent from the job boards you use.
- AI job agent
- A service that uses AI to help find roles, compare them with a candidate's profile, and draft application materials. In Kariyan's standard flow, you review prepared documents before choosing whether to send an application.
- GDPR and job search
- The GDPR sets rules for handling personal data. In a job search, check what a service collects, why it uses and shares that data, how long it keeps it, and how you can exercise your rights to access, correct, export, or request deletion. The service's privacy notice explains its practices.Read Kariyan's privacy notice
